FAQ

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can either submit a contact form here, or call and leave a voicemail with a brief message and the best way to reach you.  I will then contact you to answer any questions you may have before scheduling your first appointment.

Will my health insurance cover therapy?

Depending on your plan, you may get reimbursed by your insurance company for some of the cost of your sessions.  You would just need to contact your insurance company to find out if and how much they will reimburse you, and where you will need to send the Superbill (which I can provide).

How long will the process take?

The duration of treatment depends on a number of factors.  An acute problem (such as a single-incident trauma) can be resolved in 6-8 sessions, while a chronic issue may take months or even years depending on the complexity of the problem, your goals, your resources, and how you respond to treatment.  I work collaboratively with my clients to determine the best plan to help them meet their goals.

What is art therapy?

Art therapy is a treatment approach facilitated by a trained art therapist who integrates the creative process and art media into psychotherapy.  Art therapy can help foster self-expression while reducing levels of emotional distress, which can in turn help the client work through problems and gain new personal insights.  In addition, art therapy can help improve mood and self esteem while learning effective ways to cope with stress.
