Emerge Counseling & Art Therapy

Bringing darkness to light

Who are You?

My clients struggle like you do. Despite being intelligent and introspective, they overthink everything. They’re dedicated, motivated, hard workers; but they never feel good enough- no matter how much they’ve accomplished.

They're loyal to the people who are most important to them and value their relationships,  but nobody knows that deep down they never truly felt like they belonged.

When they first came in, their relationships were suffering or they realized that for whatever reason they just weren’t feeling fulfilled. They didn’t understand their feelings or how to communicate them, so they let problems build until they shut down, broke down, or blew up. They avoided conflict like the plague and criticized themselves ruthlessly. They were people pleasers who often felt let down by others because they put everyone else first but got nothing in return. This left them feeling empty, lonely, and depressed. Their emotions got in the way of the life they wanted in so many ways. They weren’t the kind of people they wanted to be. They felt like they were failing at life. And the confidence in themselves was tanking.

Before they came to see me, they thought they could solve all their problems by themselves. They weren’t used to asking for help, and they were pretty sure that a therapist wouldn't understand.  They tried it anyway because they didn't know what else to do.

Like my clients, you deserve to feel satisfied with your life and proud of your accomplishments. The life you desperately want is not out of your reach.  If you want to understand yourself and why you feel the way you do, gain confidence and feel empowered, communicate more effectively, and improve your relationships, I’d love to help you get there.

I help people pleasers and over-achievers learn to relax and realize their worth without having to "earn" it or rely on others' approval to feel like they are enough.  Life can be so much better when you let go of the stuff that is draining you and channel that energy into the things that invigorate your soul.
